The February 2022 crochet quiz is here and is a great way to test your crochet knowledge. It’s also just for fun!

The crochet quiz is run live in my stories on Instagram each month, but I always publish the quiz to my blog afterwards for anyone who missed out on the live quiz or for anyone who would like to revisit old crochet quizzes. Occasionally, I also run crochet giveaways alongside the quiz on Instagram. Unfortunately due to the craziness that the end of February 2022 brought, I did not do a giveaway this month. Instead, I asked participating crocheters to either donate to a reputable charity supporting Ukraine or to buy PDF patterns direct from Ukrainian crochet designers on Etsy. What a crazy time in the world!
Without further ado, I bring you the latest crochet quiz. There are two ways you can play along. Either scroll down this webpage and answering the questions as you go. Towards the end, you’ll reach a warning image letting you know the answers are coming up. Simply continue scrolling to read the answers and mark your score.

If you answered A, huge congratulations! You sure do know your crochet designers. For those of you that didn’t get this one right, Yan Schenkel is an amigurumi designer known for her Animal Friends of Pica Pau crochet pattern books. Monica the Alpaca was a pattern in Yan’s first Animal Friends of Pica Pau crochet book.

Q4. What can a blunt needle used for yarn be called?

This one was a wee bit of a trick question, so huge well done if you answered correctly! Sewing needles have pointy/sharp tip, whereas the needles we use in crochet are called tapestry needles (they have blunt ends).
Q5. What does the abbreviation ‘ch’ mean in crochet patterns (US terms)?
B) Chain
If you answered Chain, you were correct! Well done!
Q6. What type of crochet hooks are pictured below?
A) Ergonomic Crochet Hooks
That’s right, these hooks are ergonomic crochet hooks. While they are technically aluminium crochet hooks, because they have a softer out layer over the handle of the hook, this makes them ergonomic crochet hooks.
Q7. What yarn company makes this yarn in the image below?
C) Rico Design
You must be a fan of crocheting amigurumi if you got this one right! Ricorumi yarn is a popular cotton yarn used by a lot of crocheters who make amigurumi and is produced by the yarn company called Rico Design. It’s one of my personal favourite yarn brands.

B) Total Stitch Count
Total stitch count is the correct answer. Huge well done if you got this right! In crochet patterns, the number of stitches in each row or round is tallied up and this number is held in brackets at the end of each row or round. This helps crocheters ensure they have crocheted the correct number of stitches.
