What to expect from Cilla Crochets in 2021

Happy new year! I hope you had a fantastic break over the festive period, and you got to put your hook and yarn to work, just for you. What better way is there to relax than to crochet, am I right?

Before I start releasing new and overdue (let's be honest, I'm behind on my project posts from 2020!) blog posts this year, I thought I'd share with you some of the upcoming plans I have for Cilla Crochets. Plus, how else can I be kept accountable for my goals unless you, my crochet-loving pals, know what I'm planning?

In a nutshell, here's what to expect in 2021.

More amigurumi crochet patterns

Yes! I am so excited and have some exciting new crochet patterns in the line-up that I can't wait to share with you all. I'll be focusing on amigurumi designs, including more crocheted food (yup, that's a big hint!), but that is all I'm able to share with you just now. If you'd like to be the first to know about any published crochet patterns, be sure to sign-up to the Cilla Crochets newsletter.

Crochet tutorials

I haven't quite figured out the format these will be in, but I have already started sharing videos on the Cilla Crochets Instagram & Facebook page. Make sure you're following if you'd like to stay in the loop. My plan is to share what I already know, and what I learn throughout the year with you all. The aim is help you learn and perfect your favourite fibre craft. Who knows, if you find these helpful, I may even start a beginner's course. We shall see!

Crochet tips & tricks for all of your favourite crochet patterns

I have a huge goal of increasing my crochet knowledge and skill level this year. And what better way to do that than to tackle a range of creative patterns from a range of talented crochet designers. The best bit is, I'll be continuing to share all of these projects and what I learn along the way right here, on the blog. So if you ever fancy crocheting one of the projects I've already made, you can easily head on over to my blog for some tips and tricks to help you out as you crochet. This brings me nicely into my next goal, which will definitely make navigating my blog posts a lot easier.

Website updates to make finding what you need as easy as possible

Yup, I have plans to have a bit of a website overhaul and declutter. I want to make sure you can find what you need easily, and at the moment, I know that's not the case. Once I've gotten the site to a stage where I'm relatively happy with it, I'll be reaching out to you for feedback. Just to make sure I've gotten it right and you can easily find what you need.

A crochet shop for crocheters

Wow, I've said it out loud now (or written it in a public forum, anyway). Now there's no going back! You read right, this year I will be opening a crochet shop of some form. I haven't worked out the details yet, but my ultimate goal is to offer our awesome Crochet community a selection of crochet patterns, crochet swag, and handy tools to help you with your craft (or just look good while doing it!). As I said, the details are extremely up in the air right now, but I wanted to let ya'll know that it's coming. Plans are in the works!

More interviews with crocheters from around the world

I've met loads of amazing people in the fibre arts community online. They all have amazing crochet stories to tell, and totally different outlooks on the craft. I love learning about other people, especially if it means I get to talk with them about crochet! So I'm going to be putting my feelers out there, and will be interviewing even more amazing members that make up our brilliant (and global!) crochet community. Who knows, maybe I'll make an interview show or podcast one day. Not this year though. As you can see, I already have enough goals on the list! Haha.

That's enough from me, but I hope you're all excited about what's to come in 2021. I mean, surely anything is better than what we had to all deal with last year, right? Let's hope anyway.

Be safe, take care of yourselves, and please make sure you pick up your hook!

Until next time, happy crocheting,

Cilla xx
