Additional Crochet Pattern Notes & Top Tips

  • Yarn: The yarn choice is completely up to you, and you can change the yarn weight, material, and colours based on your own personal preference. Just be aware that the weight of your yarn may impact the hook size you need to use and also the size of your final make.

  • Hook size: For making the witch's head, arms, hair and hat, use a smaller hook size than recommended on the yarn label. This will stop the stuffing appearing through your stitches.

  • Eyes: In this pattern you have the choice of using safety eyes or embroidered eyes. Instructions are included for both. Please note that using safety eyes is a choking hazard and are not suitable for children under 3 years of age.

  • Working in rounds: All parts within this pattern are worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated.

  • Stitch marker: Use a stitch marker at the beginning of each round to keep track of the number of stitches.

  • Increases & Decreases: When increases (inc) and decreases (dec) are referred to in this pattern, ensure you use the same stitch for the increase/decrease as used in that particular round. For example, if the round uses double crochet, you will need to do a double crochet increase or decrease as stated.

  • Bobble stitch: When you reach the witch's head, there is a bobble stitch required. If you are unfamiliar with the Bobble stitch, I recommend downloading the free PDF crochet pattern as a photo tutorial on this stitch is included. Just head to the form at the top of this page to download a copy of the free PDF crochet pattern.

  • Copyright notice: In no way can you replicate, copy or sell this crochet pattern. You however can sell items you make using this pattern on a small scale giving credit to the pattern designer. For more information please read the copyright notice at the bottom of the pattern on this page.
